Hello Kris,
	Hellebores can be divided. Dig up the entire crown and as much of the root
system as you can manage. Wash with a hose to get rid of the soil so you
can see the crown clearly. Can be pretty woody and hard to cut, but try for
one or more eyes on each division with decent roots. I would do mine in
spring just before or just as the spring growth cycle begins. Can be done
in autumn as well, but I like spring for the long growth period. 
	Having said that, is there some reason to divide other than more plants?
The longer they are not disturbed the more beautiful they become with the
number of blooms and leaves increasing each year. Each to his own in the
garden, but I would purchase another plant before I would touch the ones I
have.
