Sorry for tardy reply Jean - have been gardening!
The bed gets very little water but unless we have a ban on watering the
garden it is easily watered. Would be grateful for names of ferns and
hostas that do well in dry shade. Thanks.

There are also a couple of ferns that do well with drier conditions.
I'm not real sure which ones at the moment but you might inquire about them.
I will try to find my book and let you know. They make great companions.
Does the bed get any water or will you be able to water it at all? I have
several hosta that do well in drier shade.
