Re: How do you keep track of your plants?
Forrest - I also would be interested in what fields you use for your
plant database. I was wondering if I should put category of plant: i.e.
shrub, perennial, herb, etc. I already have a great database program
called INMAGIC. It is one I used at work, and I paid to buy it after I
retired, as I like it so much. It also displays as many images per
record as you want. I have used it for so many other personal
databases, I havent quite started in on the plant one. It might well
give me more information than I would need. But if it didnt identify
those plants I have kind of lost track of, it might not be worth it.
BUT I guess I could take photos of seedlings and unidentified ones, and
leave them in there for later research. That way, I might unknowingly
include some "weeds" I suppose, but I have some interesting ones of
those too! But to do that, I should probably get a good plant photo
system. Now I see why I havent gotten into this yet.
