question about oak trees, OT

I just know someone on this list will have more information than I about
this lovely slender young oak tree that's growing on a slope near my
house, having come there unbidden but is tremendously appreciated; it's
about 20 feet high I'm guessing and it's trunk is about 5 inches or so
around, I'm really guessing;

we're in NYS zone 5ish, in the mountains, and the lightly wooded slope
the tree is growing in is the side of a hill, into which is cut a busy
road, and the slope is towards the bottom of the hill just down from the
road;

we have had sufficient rainfall this spring so far, just enough, I would
say, to keep the vegetation happy, and everything is looking that way,
except for the oak, whose leaves have been very wilted I noticed two
days ago, early morning, late afternoon;

we had a good rain less than a week ago, so I was amazed to see this;

this morning we started having some more rain, and sure enough, the
oak's leaves are looking better;

has anyone some experience or knowledge to offer, as to what is
happening?
