"Gathering" perennials - Scabiosa prolifera
I also think collecting plants is rather like hunting and gathering in
the wild! (I think shopping is also a bit like that.) But I was
recently at a nursery where the owner mostly sells wholesale, and doesnt
often get gardeners (like me) who are looking for unusual plants. So he
came out proudly with a six pack of Scabiosa prolifera, which I had
never heard of. He said it was a lonely orphan, and he would give it to
me. Since I like scabiosa, I happily accepted.
Can anyone tell me more about this plant? My other scabiosa has a
tendency to self seed, but is this one more prolific, as the name would
suggest? It is flowering already, a pale yellow similar to Scabiosa
ochroleuca.
