Lithodora diffusa

Back in 1999, there was a thread on this list about Lithodora
diffusa. The gist was that it was difficult, if impossible to keep
alive further north than USDA Zone 7. However, I'd never seen it for
sale this far north (Wisconsin, Zone 5) and I succumbed to its
electric blue flowers:

I note that the tag said that it preferred shady, well drained, acid
soil. Does anyone have anything to add to these cultural
suggestions? I may just try to keep it potted to overwinter it. Any
suggestions?
