If you come in my garden during JB time, you will see little jars of water in
several locations. We hold the jar under the beetles and tap them in, then
screw on the lid. The JBs here have changing tastes. Of course we can always
find them on the few roses we grow. They also like to perch in the asparagus
foliage. One year they nearly destroyed a dawn redwood, but it came back more
or less and hasn't been attacked by them again. They'll go after the daylily
flowers to some extent too.
The mild winter and early spring this year hint to me that I'll need more
jars.
