Cheryl: Keep up the good work. My children are now 5 and 7 and each year,
since they were old enough to have an opinion (which was very early), they
have been allowed to pick out a couple of six packs of annuals and a bulb or
two. They love it and can point out exactly what is theirs in the garden.

After having babies I never gave up gardening. My kids have been out there
with me on blankets and in their playpens. Now that they cannot be
contained, they are loaded with bug catchers and butterfly nets when I'm in
the garden. It's wonderful to watch them getting excited about dragon flies,
baby frogs and caterpillars and later the crystals. It is endless what there
is to discover when there is a garden around.

A couple of Sunday's ago we had a very misty/dew sorta morning. My husband
took the kids out at dawn and they hunted out every perfectly formed spider
web they could find. They were mesmerized for at least an hour. It was a
wonderful experience and all it took was a walk in the yard and a little dew.
