The note about slugs not eating any green plant-well they must not have the
Minnesota type slugs then.
There are many different types of slugs, the little brown ones don't concern
me too much but we have one that is good sized (for around here) that eats
all the plants that were mentioned on the list.
In fact fall and spring is when they do the most damage-they will eat the
eyes and new growth of Hosta and Hemerocallis and Lillies- were they over
winter just below the soil surface. next to the crowns of the above plants.
Some people complain about pills bugs eating their plants and by my
experience they do not eat any thing, but they just hang around to eat dead
plant parts that are rich in bacteria but others swear they eat their growing
plants.
