RE: Troublesome plants - buttercup?

Don, that sure looks like the foliage of the one I spent 10 years digging
out of my raspberry patch!

Being a bit of a sucker for variegated or yellowish plants, I came
across a variety of Creeping Buttercup (Ranunculus repens) called
Buttered Popcorn.

See: http://home.wi.rr.com/llmen/ranunrepens.jpg

Is this Creeping Buttercup likely to become a Leaping Buttercup? I'm
hoping its variegated nature will restrain it a bit.

Thought I better ask before I plant it and All Hope is Lost.
