re: clematis questions

Pat, maybe you haven't tried my method: just keep buying them. I've lost
my share of clematis, but I find these particularly tough: Hagley Hybrid,
Guernsey Cream, Gypsy or regular jackmanii, Niobe, Candide, General
Sikorski. And of course there's no turning off C. terniflora -- sweet
autumn clematis -- but it needs space. Most of those I mentioned are not
growing in ideal clematis conditions -- but they keep going and going.

Thanks for wishing me luck. There's no telling how the three I just bought
will do. Maybe they'll be here next year, maybe not. I really love vines
and like to combine them.
