Good Morning Everyone!
Just finished weeding one of my perennial beds this morning and it is
finally getting warmer here with the sun breaking through the mist.
My question is: Has anyone started lilacs from cuttings? Or should I just
be happy with the side shoots that pop up?
Have lots of clematis to plant and picking up three new arbors as soon as
Big Lots store opens. My own Mother's Day present. I would rather have the
clematis as I've tried and tried climbing roses but I just don't have much
luck with them. Keep hoping that the roses will eventually look like some
in those gardening magazines. hee hee
But, four have died over the winter. So will replace them with climbing
vines.
Oh thanks for the shady garden tips. The one about the tobacco was
interesting but these deer here would probably start gathering leaves and
roll there own joints. I can see them now sitting over in the woods (a
group of deer now smoking) and laughing about which plant they intend to eat
next and thanking me for the smokes. I planted ferns and they haven't eaten
them down to the ground - well yet! I'll probably just make a shady garden
on the Northwest side of the house as it does get some shade in the
afternoon. I had better start planting the things I've purchased recently
so I don't see them die - so I'm off to get started on these clematis.
Happy Gardening
