Yes, Melissa, a wash and putting outside will help your plant no matter
if it has mealy bugs or whatever. If there are mealy bugs and they
still cause a problem( usually outside most of the pests do not cause
such a problem with the fresh moving air currents), then spray the pests
on the plant with vinegar and water. The solution is one part vinegar
to 6 parts water. Try it on one section to see how the plant reacts to
the solution.
