transplanting Wisteria

Connie, as with all woody plants, the really best time to move them
is when they are not in growth. However, Wisteria is tough and makes
a massive root system, so if you don't want it where it is, I'd move
it now - it will take over your greenhouse. Agree the best time to
do this is early evening or a nice misty or drizzly, gray day.
I'd whack it back hard to compensate for the lost roots...it will put
out new growth...Lordy how it'll put out new growth:-) They want
good drainage, but if your weather is hot, keep it watered and you
might want to provide some temporary shade until it gets
re-established.
