Below is a link to a photo of Lysimachia 'Firecracker' growing in a semi-shaded portion of my rear yard in Milwaukee. What you see is the result of 3 years spreading, with a few of the plants removed for sharing.

I really like the purple foliage in the early spring, although it seems to fade as the year wears on Extra plants are easily removed. Now, of course, it might be less restrained in a sunnier and or warmer climate, but still, it's easily removed if you find it gets a bit too happy.
My "boo-boo" was several years ago when I planted a Calystegia hederacea 'Flore Pleno' in a 6x10ft enclosed bed in the front of my house. Even though it is sterile, as claimed, its spread via runners is faster than the 3rd Infantry going into Baghdad.
Fortunately, the area is enclosed, but I am still pulling out sprouts after 3 years.
