RE: how to divide purple coneflowers

Terry, they are pretty bullet-proof. I'd divide however you can. I
think the only thing that would kill them is a blow torch :-)

Subject: how to divide purple coneflowers

Hello,

Found you surfing the web...

I can find a lot of info on when to divide Purple coneflowers, but not
HOW.

I dug up a rather large one from my garden.

However, it was a really glob of roots and dirt...

I wasn't sure if I should just divide as a hosta, where you take a
shovel w/ straight edge and chop it? It seemed that there was a lot of
wasted material when I got done w/ the process. Seems that some had
minor roots while others had a glob of root and one that looked like the
main root.

Thoughts?

Thank you
Terry Thomas
