Also, Dicentra cucullaria is a native, only 12 -15 inches high with ferny foliage. Believe its a native plant to eastern North America. Also ephemeral.

There's a Dicentra spectabilis 'Alba' (which is a cultivar and what you
have).  Dicentra cucullaria is known as "Dutchman's breeches" and is
what I was talking about.
