If you do spray into a pot on stick so spray only goes where you want it.

I had the same problem with a variegated Commelina, Kitty.  I was warned that not all the seedlings would be variegated.  But turns out it’s more like 10% and the rest are EVERYWHERE!

Yes, I do some stupid things. A couple of years ago I was invited to a plant swap of people who know little more than the flower color of their plant. No name. It looked familiar but I couldn’t place it. Turned out to be a Commelina which spread like there was no tomorrow and seeded excessively. I have it more/less under control now by just pluck-pluck-plucking. I really should have known better.

Now it’s Persicaria Brushstrokes, Tovara. It seemed reasonably well behaved. A few volunteers here and there, but last fall it was all over the place and getting thick. I’ve pulled about half of it and these plants have really good roots. Awkward around the valuable plants I’m trying to protect.  Now I’m at an area where I originally planted it and there is not much else there. Since there are so many tiny seedlings everywhere, I know I’ll be fighting it for years to come around the valuable plants. But here where there’s little else, do you think Roundup might be in order?
