I've had a few shooting stars over the years, but they've been short-lived. They were getting too expensive to replace, but these new ones at $4/pot were priced to sell. Interestingly, I had one that I overwintered in a pot for ten years from my mailorder nursery days, but when I finally put it into the ground last year it died. Good drainage and all that, so who knows. :) I have a section of yard by the neighbor's driveway where everything has coincidentally died. I think I'm going to move the blackberries and raspberries there and plant some of the more aggressive perennials around them. That will eliminate the other problem of raspberries running rampant through the more desirable perennial beds.
