Re: Whats in bloom now that you like?
Two vigorous growers are both blooming now --Centaura montana and Shasta
daisies--and look great together even though they are beginning to crowd
their neighbors. The daisies have even appropriated the bare ground
under the Delicious apple and I don't mind for now. I was glad to get
the pruning information for the Centaura; shall give it a try.
I only wish that buddleia were a spreader here--love it and the
butterflies that come with it--but I must grow it as an annual. Next
year I will try seeds--alot less expensive.
I also want to thank the list for discussing Gaura which I know won't
last through the winter here and which I bought in a gallon pot at
Walmart. It opened its first flowers today and looks wonderful. I
suppose it isn't really responsible for them to sell this plant here in
zone 4 as a perennial, but there's always folks like me who actually
buy it! --a $7 annual.
