RE: Disappointed in Mums

I put Mums in for the first time last year and was very disappointed that they did not make it through the winter.  I did everything that the guy at the garden store told me to do.  I cut them back and covered them with leaves.  It was a very mild, (almost non), winter here.  I thought that would help, but maybe it made it worse???
 
Are people able to read my messages? Please let me know.  I have tried to re-format and don't know if it helped.
