I never tried it, but they might.

I grew them in moist soil, and I grew them in dry soil.  I think performance
was about the same.

I do recommend that you try to locate them at least 200 feet away
from your beans and potatoes because Callistephus chinensis is
also subject to the yellows virus spread by green leafhoppers, i.e.,
if you hope to save any disease-free seed.  BTW, I harvest the
most viable seed on this plant by waiting until January.
