RE: forsythia

	Hi Isabelle.

I am having quite a bit of success with my forsythia. Basically,
for fast growing shrubs such as this one, you want to cut them back about 6
inches for every foot that they grow. A forsythia may need a good pruning
2-3 times during it's growing season (depending how healthy it is). I use
this general rule for my lilacs and barberries, too. This allows them to
really fill out. You should have already pruned once this year cleaning up
any dead wood and getting it ready for bloom season. Mine are already due
for another. Try to remember to prune the first time in late winter (when
it's still slightly dormant). This will give it a good boost.

I hope this helps. If I think of anything else, I will let you
know. Of course, a good shrub fertilizer is good just about any time of the
year, but just before winter is the best time.

	Have a great day!!
