Fellow gardeners:
Any advice on perennial beds under trees? Are some trees better then
others?
I planted a bed of Hostas and Heucheras under (not right under it around
the trunk, but rather on its north side to take advantage of the shade) my
Maple (Silver or Sugar) and I am a little concerned about root competition
-- it seems very dry. The Hostas don't seem to be liking it.
Is a Walnut better behaved? It's not a Black Walnut, so I don't have to
worry about the poison stuff.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
