Val - my brugs are in the ground but I too like them underplanted.....I've
used homestead verbena and blue daze.......looks great!!
Good point about the water cystals as these brugs do like their water in the
heat of the day. Another good potting soil is Jungle Grow Professional Mix
(available at Lowes).....I find that with this medium my plants in containers
need watering less....even my ferns.
You also mentioned about the salt built up in water soluable ferts....it has
also been recommended to me by my mom-n-law to use a little dish soap in the
solution every 2nd or 3rd application....this helps with any kind of build up
in the soil or on the leaves.
I sure am enjoying the talk about brugmansia.....I think this is one of the
first times I actually have experience with the plant of the hour.
