what you've described is a datura -- not a brugmansia.  Brugmansias do not
come in purple shades as far as I know, but datura does.  You might want to
refer to earlier posts about the differences between the two.  By the way,
brugmansias are often referred to as Angel's Trumpets.

most extensive collection of daturas and brugmansias of any mail order firm
I've seen and are of very high quality.  You will immediately tell the
differences between the two once you see the color pictures.  They have a
