I have dug and transplanted daffodils quite successfully right after they
bloomed. This runs counter to conventional wisdom but I can't see that
there is any harm in doing it this way. For those of us who naturalize our
daffodils, this is the only practicable way to move them. If I tried to
dig them in the fall, I would have no idea where the bulbs are and, if I
did find some, I wouldn't know which sort they were.
