Good point! It set me to thinking, too, and I can see that could happen esp.
with perennials. Too much water and fertilizer can produce weak floppy growth.
Reminds me of something I know I've mentioned before - over the years I have
stuck leftover divisions of German iris and other things in my neighbor's yard
and she, being a very busy working gal, doesn't give them any care. Her iris now
out flowers mine and looks healthier, too. Maybe a little judicious neglect is
in order.
