I am in my third year of gardening and love the info that I get from all you
experts. I have not had any experience with insect infestations on my
plants until now, and I don't know what they are or what to do about them.
I had noticed that one of my bee balms looked kind of misshapen and stunted
at the top. When I looked closer I saw a glob of what looked like white
cotton. When I touched it, it was wet and not cottony. Inside was a small
yellow and green insect. Upon closer inspection, I found several more
plants with this on them. I cut off some of this, but am now afraid that I
have cut off all the developing buds.
Does anyone know what this is and what I should do about it? I was so
excited about my garden this year, because it is so much bigger and better
than last year. Now I am afraid that this insect(?) will stop things from
blooming or even kill some of my plants.
