I've never thought of doing them in sand what a great idea.
I too have rooted rose cuttings that way, in fact, I have about 11 antique
rose cuttings I recently received at an Antique Rose Rustling Symposium.
Your mom sounds great...does she ever make you tired just watching her? I
bet she's a real inspiration.
I think I will try that--what time of year do you take your cuttings? Do
you use rooting hormone?
