Re: Violets for fragrance?


...and since Madelin brought up the subject of fragrance: What happened
to the scent of freesia? Back in 1989 I bought some yellow freesia from
a florist in Palo Alto, and the scent filled the office. The ones here
in Connecticut are barely scented at all. At first I thought they must
be a different species -- the California ones are not frost-hardy -- but
the florist said that his were hot-house grown.
