Re:Re: Violets for fragrance NOW favorite fragrance

Fragrance is one of the most important factors for me is choosing plants.
At the end of a hard work day, there is nothing like walking out into the
garden and having my spirits lifted by a cloud of sweet scent.

I really love the fragrance of:

sweet peas (my very favorite)
alba and damask roses
heliotrope
violets (but as i say, not all have much traditional scent)
herbs and their flowers
some cyclamens
narcissus
gardenia
scented geraniums of all types
hyacinth
peony
california bay laurel, which smells like honey when the unobtrusive flowers
appear in Jan.
certain oleanders, which have a subtle almond-like scent

I could go on.....

Happy Thanksgiving to all

Madelin
