Re: Boyce Thompson Arboretum

Your right, spring is awesome.  For the first time, I made a trip the first week in October.  It was very hot down here in the valley, but was nice and cool up there, once you got down along the creek bed.  So much fun, and neat things to see...I was astounded by the hundreds upon hundreds of butterflies that were in the Demonstration Gardens.

I've just been getting into plants that attract butterflies over the last year or so, and was pleasantly surprised by how many butteflies showed up in my gardens this summer/fall.  I still didn't have 100's but they are so fun to watch fluttering around the garden.  So many neat colors, and patterns to admire.

Delicious Autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth
seeking the successive autumns.

I would like to second this recommendation.  It is particularly
wonderful in the springtime.
