Hello Gale,
    I am assuming your purchased the Arum this year sometime if you
transplanted this year. What size container did it come in?? *Usually* what
your purchase in the nursery trade is about two years old seedlings. That
means you have about 3 years to go before you see the first bloom. All this
is "about" since we are talking plants, but it is my usual run here. My
original arum italicum came to me in a 4" pot  some 10 years ago.
    Mine are planted right up next to the base of a tree in rocky soil with
little in the way of nutrients. The three original are now a stand of about
three feet across. But... I also collect the seeds each year.
    I am willing to bet that if you asked someone at Cheekwood they would
tell you that those arum had been there for some time. Also they probably
started with more than the one to three you or I would begin with.
    What are you using or thinking of using as a companion plant(s)?
