Re: Arum italicum Marmoratum

Hello Nancy,
I do not have a copy of AH A-Z to see the photo of the Arum you are
discussing. I have had A. marmoratum for quite a few years now. It does not
bloom in black... same as the Arum italicum on the other side of the tree
where they are located. A. Pictum , I do not know about for sure on the
bloom. At one time the two names, pictum and marmaratum were used
interchangeably.... however, there is a species arum pictum... so that name
belongs elsewhere. The two are actually separate species. Confusing.
There several "hardy" species of Arum to collect. You could get away
with more species than I here a bit more north of you. Do you have A.
maculatum? Shorter time above ground, but I like it just the same. Comes up
the last of winter here.
