arum Italicum

Thanks, Marge & Gene, for your helpful notes on the arum - guess mine is just
young. You're right, Cheekwood's have probably been there for decades.

<<What are you using or thinking of using as a companion plant(s)? - Gene E.
Bush>>

Well, I have some wild ginger, a ginseng plant, some astilbe and columbine, a
couple of hostas, fall anemones, cardinal flower (this bed kind of segues
from shade into sun), a couple of strawberry begonia, some lilies... and this
year I had a gorgeous dragonwing begonia that has just now succumbed to our
first hard freeze this week. All these things are in danger from the
ubiquitous cinquefoil! It will grow all winter while they are dormant and
just about smother some things unless I fight it tooth and nail.
