I ordered a large quantity, several hundred when I first started using them. That way I had ample stock for all current plants plus extra for new plants as I acquired them. Now, when needed, I order just extra plates - about 11 cents each. Sometimes I lose or get rid of a plant and rather than try to clean off the old plate, I just slip on a new one.
I've found a quick scrub with IPA takes off what ever I've written on the plate.
