When you say bulbs, lilium is the first picture that forms in my mind. My
preferences lay along the species. Martagons, superbum, canadense, speciosum
in particular. Several others I cannot bring to mind right now. Would have
to go out and check labels. If you go out to include tubers, etc... then
snowdrops are a must... corydalis soilda cultivars, winter acontie... lots
of the minor bulbs...
I have not tried any of the new cross species as yet... keep
intending to order some for containers.

>From the group description, I see that we are purely a perennial discussion
group. Well, bulbs fall into that category, so...
I just dug up a clump of orienpets. I had planted one nice-sized Haley's
Comet (very similar to Scheherazade) there about 6 or 7 yrs ago. What I
came up with today were 2 big bulbs each about the size of a large
grapefruit. Also 2 slightly smaller ones and then one that's about the size
a seller would send if you'd ordered it, probably 16 cm. This was my first
orienpet, originally purchased about I'd guess 10 or 12 years ago. It has
been very dependable and prolific, much more so than other orienpets I've
purchased since then.
Is anyone else here much into bulbs?
