I have brought mine in, cut way back and put under the flourescent lights I
use for starting seeds. They are about 4 inches above the plants-simple
old industrial fixtures with an assortment of bulbs. So far the geraniums
seem to be loving it--all kinds of new growth. I also had some tired out
begonias with large blossoms that I put under there that are bursting out
new leaves. This is the first year I've tried this, but so far so good. I
had some great colors I wanted to keep, so I thought it would be worth it.
I figure I'll take cuttings and start a lot of new plants, and that should
offset the electric costs.
