Re: premature muscari, etc.


Judy,

Aside from the fact that a lot of bulbs do this naturally, the growing
season's weather plays a large part in how plants act.  If you have some
odd or unusual weather, plants can get their signals crossed and start to
bloom or form buds that they wouldn't "normally" do.  Nothing much the
gardener can do about it.  Sometimes it means less of a show the next
season, but them's the breaks ;-)  Nothing to really worry about, either. 
In addition to those plants you mentioned, azaleas and forsythia will often
rebloom in fall, especially if it is a long, mild fall....at least mine do.
