Chris,
Where have you sited your Oakleaf? Although they will grow (and sometimes
thrive) in hot sites, they do appreciate some shade and can tolerate full
shade. Make sure you give it adequate moisture for the first year or
so--they really need this until established. Mine didn't bloom well their
first year, but made up for it this year. Good luck.
