Re: Favorite gardening Christmas present


A good gardening ecyclopaedia is  must to the starter gardener - I have too
many, but the best one has pictures, lots of description, and sorted in
neat categories (The Gardener's Encyclopaedia of Plants and Flowers by
Editor in Chief Christopher Brickell by Dorling Kindersley in London; or
Right Plant, Right Place, by Nicola Ferguson - Pan Books Ltd.).

Another great book I used when creating our gardens is called 'Twelve
Months of Gardening', and was compiled by a bunch of local gardeners.  It's
great to read up on each month of what blooms, what can be planted, what
work should be done.  If you can find a local edition, you'll be
grateful...
