HI folks,
What a wonderful discussion about delphiniums.
I agree that a ph of 7.5 is not a problem and should in fact be close
to ideal, and am delighted to hear that some of you in the mid west
are enjoying success and concur with your methods. Yes, they do
need pampering in marginal conditions and yes, they are worth it!
(but not for those in warm climes who want easy care)
I apologise for being late on this one .. but then again maybe i don't
as it has been good to "listen" to your experiences and find that your
problems mirror our own. We are growing our delph in a plastic
house this season (regularly over 100deg F in summer), just to give
them a little more heat to contend with and assist selection for heat
tolerance. Sorry our web site has not been updated recently. It
shouldn't be too long before we have a few more new articles and
more pictures as well as the new season's seed list.
cheers
