Re: crocosmia

Dear all,

I just love crocosmia and have been quietly collecting some real sweeties. I
have to agree about 'Solfaterre' and 'Dusky maiden' and 'Citronella' is a
really reliable one. But this year the real star of the show was
'Queen Mary II'. Handsome warm yellow flowers with red buds and a lovely
flower formation. 'Star of the East' also did really well, although I know
that it isn't as hardy. 'George Davidson' and 'Gerbe d'Or' have proven to be
as lovely as 'Solfaterre' but a bit taller. And one I'm on the lookout for
is 'Baby Barnaby' I first saw it at Bosvigo gardens in Truro, Cornwall, but
I haven't been able to find it for sale yet. Anyone in the UK know of a
supplier?
BTW, hasn't it been a lovely autumn for colour? My Aster f. 'Monch' has only
just finished flowering. It been going for weeks as has Aster thompsonii
nanus. Another treasure!

Regards,
Tracy Wilson. Cornwall.
