Re: clematis

Hello Susan,
I have been interested in Clematis for a while now.... began with the standard
large-flowered types everyone knows. Then got to wondering if there was anything
else. Come to find out there were species clematis before there were all the big
hybrids;-) Also learned there is a wealth of native species clematis that most of
us tend to ignore, or not be aware of.
I have found that I love the little dwarfs that stay around a foot or so in
height and have little bell-shaped blooms. There are also the ones that are not
really climbers and range from around 3 to 8 feet or so..
There are a couple of books with plenty of photos out here.
