Re: What is an oyster garden?
Wild guess: A garden in which the beds are edged with oyster shells?
I just saw a garden in Ridgefield, CT that had shells along the edges,
but they were huge scallop shells, not oysters. And in the "Anne of
Green Gables" series, Anne edges her flower beds with the shells of
quahog clams (pronounced "cow-hawks" by the locals).
Martha Stewart (hey! come back here!) once lined garden beds with
colorful ceramic plates. It was possibly the ugliest edging I've ever
seen.
