Re: clematis

Hi Susan,

I haven't had very good success with regular clematis so tried autumn clematis a few times with equally bad success (winter killed each time).   Those were small plants, either from someone's garden or purchased locally.   This year I bought a  plant from a  greenhouse fairly early in the season.  It has since grown from about 8" tall to over 6 ft.   It even bloomed.   I think this one may come back next year and flourish.  It is supposed to spread and be almost invasive.  It is so fragrant, you can smell it 50 ft away.
