* Foster & Gallagher Inc. successfully auctioned a
substantial portion of
its assets. The sales were expected to close in early
Oct. F&G and 21 of
its subsidiaries, including Spring Hill Nurseries,
Stark Brothers,
mySEASONS.com, Brecks and Gurneys Seed, filed for
Chapter 11
bankruptcy on July 2. Most of F&Gs
horticulture-related business,
including all inventory, equipment, intellectual
property and real estate,
were sold to Gardens Alive for $10.75 million. Its
Gift Group was sold
