RE: clematis source

Speaking of Clematis from Heronswood...... I purchased C. connata when I
visited there about 4-5 years ago. It is a September-October bloomer for me
(still blooming merrily at this moment). A dainty pale yellow bell shaped
flower with upturned petal tips, but the vine is vigorous. It covers a good
section of chain link fence, raspberry supports, and 3 shrubs. The flower
does not resemble either orientalis or texensis. I can't find it in the
2001 catalog or other sources. Can anyone tell me if connata is a species
name or a hybrid name? Of course the tag is lost. :(
Thanks for your help, Marilyn

I have been very pleased with clematis species (and hybrids) from
Heronswood.
