I am in Zone 7, on the Eastern Shore of Md, quite near the water and have
not had any problem with Sternbergia lutea. My original bulbs came from VA
many years ago and have spread into quite a nice clump. They are planted
under a Holly tree in Eastern Shore soil which gets dry in the summer. I
understand that they do "resent" disturbance and take quite a while to get
established.
